  5. Frustrating, brilliant, eerie,  dangerous  and  mind blowing
  6. are all the  things  that  I  think  of  when somebody says,
  7. "Another World". Another World  has  to  be  one of the best
  8. graphic adventure games around on  the  ST.  You take on the
  9. role of Professor Lester Chaykin  who,  in a freak lightning
  10. accident, has been transported  to  another dimension, hence
  11. the title, "Another World". The  aim  of  the game is to get
  12. out of this other  dimension  alive  and  well,  but this is
  13. easier said than done.

  15. On loading the game you  are  shown a brilliant animation of
  16. Lester in his lab being struck by lightning and then you are
  17. shown onto the main  game.  The  graphics are brilliant, and
  18. animation is smooth and slick.  The animation makes the game
  19. feel really weird - you really feel as though you're the guy
  20. in the game! Sound  effects  are  also  brilliant, there's a
  21. howling wind in the  background  that  adds the eerieness to
  22. the game, and things like  roaring  when you're being chased
  23. by a beast.

  25. On the first level, Lester  can  run, walk, jump, crouch and
  26. kick. However, on the second level, Lester finds a gun which
  27. can shoot, produce a force field  or a huge energy ball that
  28. can blast enemies' force fields away and blast away parts of
  29. walls. All throughout the  game  there  are mini animations;
  30. when you crouch down to pick up the gun a small animation is
  31. played, for example. It really is good.

  33. Be prepared to  get  very  frustrated,  though.  Even on the
  34. first level, finding out what  to  do  is hard! If you don't
  35. push up on the joystick  at  the  start of the game straight
  36. away, you'll be killed -  that  shows how hard Another World
  37. is. But, never mind, there are code words which allow you to
  38. start at other parts  of  the  game  - providing you've been
  39. there before, and although  it's  very frustrating (you feel
  40. like hitting your ST with  a  sledgehammer!), it's also very
  41. addictive. Be warned, you'll keep coming back for more.

  43. US Gold have  certainly  got  a  winner  with  this one, and
  44. because its a budget game you  won't  have to part with much
  45. of that precious paper, money!  I'd  go  and buy this now if
  46. you've got £14.99 to spare!
